Cool morning in the tropics

AzminaPinkKertas.jpg

Obviously enjoying their time in the tropics, the kids wake up before sunrise and sleep a few hours after. When you have kids having trouble with jetlag, expect getting more than your share of their own suffering.

Nobody else was around when this was taken. Azmina was fascinated by the flowers in the garden, by the different birds that she saw, and by the amount of space that this home has.

I knew she was very happy - I've never seen her willing to pose for the camera before.

He Ain't Heavy

DillahRieka.jpg

My brother just got married in Jakarta, Indonesia, 19 June 2005. I’ll be putting up some photos on this site over the next few days once I get a chance to sort them out. I’ll be setting up a flicker account to compile the photos in a more orderly manner.

Photos of the wedding in the next few posts are taken by various persons handling my camera. Professional wedding photos are still not available and I think my brother would have them hosted separately.

The next official function would be held on 3 July 2005. Anyone who knows me is of course automatically invited. Friends and former friends alike.

... I shall have the same hairstyle as ...

I know what you're thinking, but, no, none of them is going to sue the other for style rights any time soon.

Untitled

Farizah0506copy.jpg

It has been nearly a week since we've been home. This tiredness will not stop. The kids have not really recovered from their jetlag. Last night Farizah slept at 3 am and woke this morning at 6. Azmina was sleeping during dinner time last night and woke up at around 2 am asking for a lollipop, cheerios, cake, bread, apple juice and rice - in that order. In the middle of all that crying, she wanted to go out and watch the birds.

If there's a way to keep the US Eastern Time ticking in our bodies by the time we return to New York in a few weeks, this would be it.

(I have not shot anything significant in the past week, so, it seems that I'll use photos from the archives)

During a month-long UN conference to discuss issues related to nuclear disarmament, held only once every five years, this group of monks gathered in front of the UN building and prayed for the meeting’s success.

The chants never stopped when the meeting was in session, which would lead one to wonder if any of them quit being a monk after reading press releases like this.
